• Aluminum brackets  have ugly exposed bolts and weld seams on the underside. Our brackets have smooth Gel Coat underside just like the finish on your hull.
  
• Aluminum brackets if damaged, or bent in most cases will require full replacement or at least a specialized auminum fabricator, then most likely you will need to powder coat the enire thing which adds great expense to the repair costs. With regard to corrrosion? good luck. Our brackets can be repaired by any fiberglass repair shop. Our brackets will return to the original shape in cases of sharp extreme temporary stress.  Ours will never corrode. Colors are easily matched and finishes applied economically.
  
• Aluminum brackets create drag on the underside by catching the water as the boat tries to plane. Our brackets actually give the boat lift in the back when planing with virtually no drag.
  
• Aluminum brackets come with separate bolts you have to figure out how to assemble and mount. Then you have to fumble around on both sides of the transom at the same time lining up the bolts, nuts and washers. Our brackets have the bolts already secured to the inside of the transom bracket face so all you do is hold the bracket up to the height of your engine shaft, level it, mark where to drill the holes, and mount using only one wrench on the inside of the transom.
  
• Aluminum brackets are secured to your transom only by the bolts and marine sealant adhesive. Our brackets can easily be laminated directly to the fiberglass transom thereby making the bracket part of the boat, not just an addon.
  
• Aluminum brackets come in only a limited color selection. If you want a different color, good luck. Our brackets are made with Gel Coat like your boat and we can color match any Gel Coat color you have with no fuss.
  
• Aluminum brackets come with only one type of non skid surface. Our brackets can be made using any non skid surface you want.
